Client:
St. Lawrence Market Neighbourhood BIA
Project:
Marketing Collateral
Overview:
To commemmorate the bicentennial of the War of 1812, the St. Lawrence Market BIA embarked on a year-long series of events to raise awareness, and call attention to the Battle of York (one of the war's pivotal battles) to help educate people on the war and how it affected Fort York (present-day Toronto) as well as the various communities that inhabited the area at the time.
To help pull this off, I was able to draw on my extensive experience designing key art for film and television to create what was essentially a movie poster-type image that we could use across all of the various marketing material being created for the various events. It was a lot of fun, especially when we'd be in a meeting in one of the BIA's offices, and soldiers in period costume would randomly walk in to do whatever they needed to do, and we were somehow expected to go about whatever we were talking about, without batting an eye. My record in that regard was about 50/50.
